Snooty's Birthday Party
Date: Saturday, July 18th
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: South Florida Museum
Say Happy 61st Birthday to Snooty!
There will be lots of fun activities for kids. The event is free; however, most activities have a small fee. There will also be food available for sale. Be sure to stop by the Bay News 9 table for your free Project Weather Activity book and a pencil bag.
Krewe of Pandora Margarita Ball
Date: Saturday, July 25th
Time: 7:00 p.m. - Midnight
Location: Quorum Hotel, 700 North Westshore Boulevard, Tampa
Party for a cause!
The Margarita Ball and Auction for the Animals is quickly approaching and everyone is invited. Join Bay News 9 anchor Leigh Moody for this fun evening of dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction.
Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. So come out and have some fun.
Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 at the door. Call 813-335-3796 or go to the Krewe of Pandora website to purchase tickets.
Celebrate Lunar History
Date: Saturday, August 1st
Time: 4:00p.m. - 11:00p.m.
Location: Science Center of Pinellas County
Be a part of Mars history!
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing. There will be:
- Astronomical viewing with the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club
- Apollo 13 movie
- Professor Daryl Schrader on astronomy and cosmology
And be sure to get your child's name included on a microchip that NASA will send to Mars. This is part of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission scheduled to launch in 2011. Enjoy all of this for only a $3 donation. Call the Science Center at 727-384-0027 for more.
Back to School Blast 2009

Make sure you're prepared!
Family Fundamentals and community partners invite you to this free family event for children pre-k through 5th grade. There will be fun hands-on activities and community resources. Kids can get free:
- Physicals & Immunizations
- Body Mass Index
- Dental checkup
- Vision check
- Speech & Hearing test
Plus children in attendance will get a free backpack full of school supplies (while supplies last).
Pre-registration is required to guarantee a backpack. Register between July 1st and 26th. For more information call 863-686-1221, ext. 221.
