A sandcastle stretching 60-feet into the sky is set to rise from Orlando's International Drive this spring. The largest water playground in the Sunshine State will anchor a new family area at Wet 'N Wild.

The yet-to-be-named complex will feature 17 colorful water slides, several elevated bridges, winding staircases and remote passageways that will lead to more than 100 soaker jets, waterfalls and water cannons.

The water park confirmed early details to News 13 on Wednesday, prior to the official announcement.

Michael Black, Wet 'N Wild's General Manager and Vice President says the new complex “will be bigger and unlike any other" in the Orlando waterpark market.

“We’ve all seen kid’s areas at waterparks”, Black said in a statement released to News 13, “but this will be bigger and unlike any other around. It will be fun and engaging for everyone, stimulating our youngest guests and delighting entire families.”

With only one exit, designers kept adults in mind, making it easier for parents to keep an eye on their children.

The complex will stand 60-feet-high upon completion and hold 85,000 gallons of water across two pools. The new area is slated to include a new seating area for adults and feature tropical landscaping.

The new attraction will be built on the site of "Kids Park," the home to Wet 'N Wild's former children's area. The addition is the first major capital improvement to Wet 'N Wild in four years.

Wet 'N Wild, which first opened in 1977, hopes to have the new complex open in time for summer.
