Bay area voters selected candidates for U.S. House, state senator, state representative, and numerous commissioners, school board members, judges and other offices.
Several referendums were also on the ballot.
The winning candidates from Tuesday will go on to the general election on Nov. 2.
U.S. House of Representatives
U.S. House District 5 - Hernando County Sheriff Richard Nugent has defeated Jason Sager for the Republican nomination.
U.S. House District 9 - Democrat Anita Depalma will face Republican Gus Bilirakis in November.
U.S House District 11 - Incumbent Kathy Castor will contest Republican Mike Prendergast for the congressional seat in November.
U.S. House District 12 - Supervisor of Elections Lori Edwards has won the Democratic nomination for this congressional seat. Edwards will face Dennis Ross, who won the Republican nomination.
U.S. House District 13 - Incumbent Vern Buchanan has defeated Don Baldauf for the Republican nomination. Buchanan will face Democratic nominee James Golden in November.
State House and Senate
State Senate District 12 - Jim Norman has defeated incumbent Kevin Ambler for the Republican nomination.
State House District 43 - Republicans Ron Schultz and Jimmie Smith are on the ballot.
State House District 44 - Diane Rowden has won the Democratic nomination for this seat. Rowden will face incumbent Republican Robert Schneck in November.
State House District 45 - Richard Corcoran defeated two opponents for the Republican nomination.
State House District 47- James Grant defeated three opponents, including former Hillsborough Commissioner Brian Blair, for the Republican nomination.
State House District 48 - Incumbent Peter Nehr has won the Republican nomination. He will face Democrat Tom McKone in the general election.
State House District 55 - Incumbent Darryl Rouson has won the Democratic nomination.
State House District 56 - Incumbent Rachel Burgin is the Republican nominee. She will face off against Democrat David Chalela and write-in candidate Lewis Laricchia.
State House District 57 - Dana Young has defeated two opponents to become the Republican nominee. She will face Democrat Stacy Frank.
State House District 60 - Republican Shawn Harrison will face Democrat Russ Patterson in November.
State House District 61 - Incumbent Will Weatherford has won the Republican nomination. He will face off against Democrat Elena McCullough in the general election.
State House District 66 - Ben Albritton has won the Republican nomination.
State House District 67 - Greg Steube has won the Republican nomination. He will run against Democrat Z.J. Hafeez and independent John Studebaker in November.
State House District 79 - Mike Horner has won the Republican nomination.
