Hurricane Danielle and Tropical Storm Earl continue to churn in the Atlantic Ocean.
Danielle will continue its northwest movement and east of the U.S., with Earl running a similar path behind Danielle.
Another tropical wave pushing off the coast of Africa is expected to take on tropical characteristics in the next couple of days.
Hurricane Danielle: Latest advisory
At 11 p.m. EDT, the center of Hurricane Danielle was located near latitude 25.8 north, longitude 57.6 west.
Swells from Danielle are expected to affect the eastern coast of the United States starting on Friday.
Danielle is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue, with a gradual decrease in forward speed over the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 110 mph, with higher gusts. Danielle is a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale.
Some additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Danielle could become a major hurricane on Friday.
Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 50 miles from the center, and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 205 miles.
Estimated minimum central pressure is 965 mb, or 28.5 inches.

At 11 p.m., the center of Tropical Storm Earl was located near latitude 15.5 north, longitude 40.2 west.
Earl is moving toward the west at 17 mph. This motion is expected to continue during the next 48 hours.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph, with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Earl is expected to become a hurricane by Saturday.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 85 miles from the center.
Estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb, or 29.62 inches.
