The mother and sister of a Manatee County teen who was killed last year testified at the suspect's murder trial Wednesday.
Byron Galloway, now 17, is on trial, accused of killing 18-year-old Dejuan Williams in August 2009.
On Wednesday, Williams' mother, Tytiki Washington, told jurors that she found her son dying from a gunshot wound on top of his car in the family's driveway.
Galloway was visiting William's 15-year-old sister the night Williams was shot. Deputies said Galloway shot Williams when he confronted the suspect with a baseball bat.
According to Bay News 9's partner paper, the Bradenton Herald, his sister, Jametrea Washington testified that she saw it all happen.
Defense attorneys said Galloway got scared and was protecting himself.
If convicted, Galloway faces life in prison.
