AAA and Budweiser team up again this Labor Day weekend to make sure the roadways stay safe.
If you need to get safely home, the Tow to Go program will send a tow truck to pick you and your vehicle, free of charge, throughout the long holiday weekend.
The service is available at no charge to both AAA members and non-members in an effort to protect everyone on the roads by keeping would-be drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.
- Call 1-800-AAA-HELP (1-800-222-4357) to get a free tow home.
Florida state troopers said 23 people died on the road in Florida during Labor Day weekend in 2009, and 13 of those deaths were alcohol-related.
“[There are] many other ways to get to where you’re going and to be safe: You can use taxis, you can use transportation, designated drivers,” said Sgt. Frederick Paul, with the Florida Highway Patrol. “We support designated drivers. They’re the ones that can help us make this holiday weekend safe for everyone.”
The Florida Highway Patrol, along with local law enforcement agencies, said they are planning drunk-driving crackdowns during the long Labor Day weekend.
