Countryside edges Boca Ciega in season opener, 21-20

Last Updated:

A missed extra point by Boca Ciega, that would have tied the game with Countryside, was the difference in a 21-20 win for the Cougars on Friday night on their home field.

The Pirates got on the board early, on a 10-yard touchdown run by quarterback Shaquille Bradford.

But just before the halftime, two Bradford interceptions led to points. One one a 48-yard pass from Gray Crow to Jordan Rossi, another on the interception itself--a 40-yard return for the score by Cameron Frost-Johnson.
