It isn’t every day that a 3-time Olympic swimmer visits your pool.
Well, just this past weekend that is the treat that many swimmers got to experience when world record holder and 7-time Olympic medal winner Aaron Peirsol gave a swim clinic at the Tampa Prep Campus Pool.
The clinic was broken into two groups, with each session running two hours. The morning session was held for the younger kids and the afternoon for the more experienced, high school swimmers. The clinic offered something for all level of swimmers, including Peirsol getting in and racing 25-yard heats to wrap up the pool session and then taking time to sign individual autographs.
Peirsol announced earlier this year that he was retiring from the sport of swimming at age 27. The California native is now living in Austin, Texas and has plans of going back to school to finish up a degree in government. Peirsol says he will never completely be out of the sport.
