Countryside swimmer Danielle Aguilar is known as the sweetheart on deck. But the summer between her 7th and 8th grade year of school, little did she know that she would soon be fighting for her life.

Aguilar was diagnosed with leukemia that summer and began her year and a half treatment immediately. Once very private about losing her hair, Aguilar put on a wig each morning to hide the side effects of radition and chemotherapy.

But today she finds strength in sharing her fight and helps bring awareness to the horrible disease.
