VB: Lakeland extends district lead with win over Jenkins

Every game counts in 7A District 7 with Lakeland, George Jenkins and Bartow racing towards a district title.

On Thursday in Lakeland, things became a little clearer, as the Dreadnaughts improved their record in the standings to 6-0 with a win over George Jenkins in four games.

The scores finished; 25-23, 22-25, 25-12, 25-15.

Kali Boatwright led the Dreadnaughts with 20 kills and 24 digs, while teammate Alex Taylor had 7 blocks. Kayla Monsanto led the Eagles with 14 kills.

Lakeland now stands at 10-6, 6-0, while Jenkins falls to 10-4, 4-2. Bartow stands at 10-4, 4-2. The Dreadnaughts face Bartow on Tuesday, while the Eagles travel to Yellow Jacket country on Thursday.
