Musicians with the Florida Orchestra brought instruments and musical accessories to students at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory in Havana. The instruments and accessories were collected as part of a drive involving Bright House Networks, Bay News 9 and Sam Ash Music Stores.

The Florida Orchestra sent a wind quintet to Cuba for the week of Sept. 29 to Oct. 2. The ensemble will perform a concert in one of Havana's principal performance venues. They will also offer classes to students who attend the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory and will play with the musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Enrique Pérez Mesa, the music director of La Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba, will make his U.S. conducting debut with the Florida Orchestra. The concerts will take place on May 11 at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts' Carol Morsani Hall, May 12 at the Progress Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg and May 13 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.
