NEW! Upload Now

How do I upload a video?

Once you've finished editing your video, made sure it's smaller than 50MB and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

1. Click the Upload Now link in the the Submit Videos box.

2. Completely fill out the Upload box.

3. Click the I agree button in the Upload terms box.

4. Use the browse for files function to find you video and enter it.

5. Click Upload.

6. Video should load and a Upload Complete message should appear along with a tone signaling the upload.

How long will my video take to upload?

Depending on your connection speed and the size of the video, it should not take more a few minutes to upload a video.

Generally, if you have a high-speed Internet connection you can expect the upload to be very quick. However, the experience is different for every user because of the variation in connection speeds.

How long are my videos available?

Videos stay on until Bright House Networks/Bay News 9.com chooses to take them down. Videos which violate the Terms of Use may be taken down immediately.

How do I make a video?

You'll need to have a device that can capture digital movies-this could be a camcorder, digital camera, or even your cell phone!

You copy the movies to your computer, and then you can either upload them as-is or edit them with software such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker to add titles and special effects.

What video file formats can I upload?

YOU on Demand accepts video files from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats.

For optimal results we recommend the following settings:

* MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
* 640x480 resolution
* MP3 audio
* 30 frames per second

Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your videos look better.

Do I have to have a camcorder to make videos?

No. While camcorders are a great way to make videos, they aren't the only one. You can make videos with a webcam, digital camera, or even some cell phones.

Can I use my webcam?

Yes. You can record video using the software that came with the camera, and then upload it, with or without editing first.

How long/large can my video be?

All videos uploaded have a 50 MB file size limit. The longer the video is, the more compression will be required to fit it into that size. For that reason, most videos are under five minutes long and there is a 10-minute length limit for all videos.
