The latest exclusive Bay News 9 I-4 Corridor poll shows a slight shift in the race for president.

Bay New 9's I-4 Corridor poll surveys likely voters in the seven Bay area counties and six Orlando area counties from St. Petersburg to Daytona Beach.

People were asked if the election for president were held today, who would they vote for?

The top answer was President Bush, Senator John Kerry came in second, Ralph Nader third and a small percentage of respondents were undecided.

Bush took a slight dip following our poll from three weeks ago. That was before the first presidential debate with Kerry. The second of their three scheduled debates is Friday night.

Meanwhile, in another poll, we asked if the race for Florida's U.S. Senate was held today, for whom would you vote?

Mel Martinez had a slight edge over Betty Castor, with the third answer among respondents being undecided. That represents a switch from our poll three weeks ago, when Castor held a slight edge over Martinez.

PMR Inc. of Washington, D.C., conducted our I-4 Corridor polls. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percent.
