Cathy Peabody started Beyond the Spectrum, a non-profit clinic for children with autism.

SARASOTA (Bay News 9) -- When Cathy Peabody's youngest son was diagnosed with autism, she went searching for services to help him but found herself very frustrated.

That's when she decided she would create the help her family needed. She quit her job and started the non-profit clinic, Beyond the Spectrum.

The clinic specializes in behavioral therapy for children with autism. Licensed workers do one-on-one therapy sessions at childrens' homes and also go into schools to do consultations with teachers and teach behavior modification to students.

The clinic has been so successful Peabody is opening up a school this upcoming school year.
