Goliath Grouper

Goliath grouper are the largest of the grouper family.  They can grow up to 800 pounds!!!!  Their lifespan is about 30 to 50 years and they feed on crustaceans and fish.  This fish is also known as the jewfish and it is completely protected from harvest in Florida waters.

In this edition of Extra On The Water, our resident fisherman Glen Pla travels to Boca Grande to try to land one of these monsters.
