It's a chance to return to third grade as a grown up--to make friends around a sport you can still play during recess.
It's kickball, and it’s run by WAKA, The World Adult Kickball Association.
Their new 10-week season starts in mid-August.
And Brooke Britton is one of the sports biggest fans. "I love kickball because you get to meet so many people -- you get to come hang out with your friends three hours once a week."
Tampa Bay On Demand’s Virginia Johnson got down and dirty
with the teams during a practice game, and talked with players about their love of the sport.
Kickball quickly gave Charles 'Chuckers' Gumucio a new friend base... at about 70 bucks a season. "I moved here about three years ago and I didn't know anybody. So I joined up was able to meet a lot of new people, friendly people."
WAKA regional representative Ty Gordon kickball says kickball is really a social sport. "With kickball there's a very narrow gap between the best players and the worst players.”

Kickball is like baseball—the only difference—the pitcher rolls the ball instead of throwing it. But there's a hitter trying to make it around the bases. Another big difference is that players can throw someone out by hitting them with the ball—just not in the head.
Virginia apparently has a terrible aim—she couldn’t hit anyone with the big red ball, but she was able to make a couple of catches!
Kickball games are played throughout the Tampa Bay area.
