Bubba is the only Democrat running. |
On Friday, he announced he's running for Pinellas County sheriff.
Even though he'll need the people's votes to step into the role, Bubba said there is a good reason why people will cast their ballots for him.
"Even if they do hate me, they certainly know what I stand for," said Bubba. "I stand up for the average guy and I'm not afraid to speak my mind."
Bubba is running unopposed as a Democrat. The winner of the Republic primary on Aug. 31 will face Bubba in the general election Nov. 2.
Bubba was fired by Clear Channel Radio in February after the FCC fined his show $755,000 for airing what it called indecent material.
Current Pinellas County Sheriff Everett Rice is running for the Florida House of Representatives.
