Gas stations with power and fuel rare in Polk

Lines at this Bartow gas station were incredibly long. |
Some had power, some had gas, but few had both. People had to wait a half-hour or longer at one in Bartow that did have both.
A customer there filled gas cans for her generator, since she has no power.
"I've grown up in Florida," said the woman. "I'm used to it. I mean, I lived when Donna came through here. Even though I was small, I remember it. It hasn't been too bad, knock on wood. I live in a mobile home under four great big oak trees and one finally got me."
The manager of the gas station said she hopes people will understand when she runs out of gas.
