No one was home when deputies called at this home; they returned later to check on the sexual predator who lives there. |
Goblins and ghouls weren't the only ones knocking on doors on Halloween.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies hit the neighborhoods as well, checking on
sexual predators. The deputies spent Monday afternoon going to the homes of 39 sexual predators living in the county.
"We do this not only to make sure that they're complying with the statute and the sanctions that have been placed on them, but also to make sure that the kids that are here visiting family, that live here, that are with their grandparents, have a good, safe evening," said Deputy Bill Farver.
The sheriff's office says there were two reasons for their action. One is
Jessica Lunsford; the other is
Sarah Lunde. Sexual predators are accused of killing both girls.
Sexual predators had to follow specific court orders on Halloween. Lights out. No decorations. No passing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Deputies said this is the first time they've checked on sexual predators on Halloween.
