Salary lived in the apartment for a year with Kitchen and several relatives. Witnesses said several people, including children, were inside the apartment when Salary was killed. The witnesses say Kitchen was Salary's girlfriend.
Deputies said Salary died from upper-body trauma. They believe this was a case of domestic violence. The original call reporting the crime came in at about midnight Tuesday.
"We received two separate 911 calls about an injured person at that location," said an investigator.
