Carlie Brucia's mother, Susan Schorpen, said she cries about Carlie a couple of times a day.
For the first time since a jury convicted Joseph P. Smith for the kidnapping and murder of 11-year-old Carlie Brucia, her mother, Susan Schorpen, talked about her feelings

She told Bay News 9 on Tuesday how she felt when she saw Smith at the trial.

"He's disgusting," she said of Smith. "I just looked at him and thought he's just a gross, a gross human being."

Schorpen said she wears some of Carlie's clothes and shoes.

"I have to," she said. "It's all I have left."

The sentencing phase of Smith's trial will start Monday.

"I try to keep my Christianity," Schorpen said. "But I want him dead."
