Thanksgiving turned tragic for an east Tampa woman whose adult son was shot and killed in front of her.
Tampa police say the shooting happened during a home invasion late Wednesday night.
Tampa police say three or four men with guns forced their way into 52-year-old Barbara Elson's home demanding property.
Elson said after the men forced her to the floor her youngest son, 30-year-old son, Solomon, arrived.
Tampa Police Lt. Chuck Stanbro says that's when the incident turned deadly.

"Apparently the son had received information that something was going on," Stanbro said. "Once he entered the residence of the mother he confronted the suspects and at that time he was shot and killed."
Stanbro says the men got away in two vehicles. One is described as a black SUV and the other is a blue Chevrolet, possibly an Impala.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 873-8477.
