Couple accused of leaving daughter with stranger

Tampa police are charging a couple with felony child neglect after they left their child with a stranger to go shopping Monday night.

Officers arrested Tyrone and Sharon Phinezy early Tuesday morning. They are accused of leaving their 11-year-old daughter with a woman in the 5900 block of North Nebraska Avenue. The woman was an acquaintance that they had only spoken to twice before.

The woman said she agreed to watch the girl for about an hour, but called police when the couple wasn't back by 11 that night.

Tyrone Phinezy, 34, is in jail on $5,000 bond. Sharon Phinezy, 32, is in jail on $1,000 bond.
