Friday, March 25, 2005
A Tampa man seeking a detention department job with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office ended up behind bars.
After an investigator learned that sexual battery suspect James Manning was applying to be a deputy, he was asked to bring paperwork to the sheriff's operation center in Ybor City. He was then arrested and charged with one count of sexual battery of a juvenile from a March 15 incident.
Manning, 36, is being held without bail at the Orient Road Jail.
