What's becoming a regular event on sidewalks outside BayWalk in St. P
etersburg got out of hand Saturday night.
Police arrested several anti-war protestors from the group St. Pete for Peace.
It started when police arrested two protestors and placed them in a prisoner transport van. That quickly led to more arrests when a group of protestors surrounded the van and linked arms to prevent it from leaving.
Twenty-one-year-old James Dunson was one of those arrested. Police said the arrests were all minor violations, including trespassing and disorderly conduct.
The group regularly stages protests near BayWalk every Saturday evening. The non-partisan, anti-war organization was founded in 2003 to protest the war in Iraq.
