Young was arrested Tuesday.

A California man is behind bars for allegedly stalking a finalist from last season's "American Idol" show.

The Tampa Police Department said Daniel Young, 59, followed Jessica Sierra, 20, of Tampa, from California to Tennessee to Tampa. He allegedly left at least 38 voicemails for her telling her he loved her and was willing to go to jail for her. She has repeatedly asked him to leave her alone and stop calling her.

"He first started calling my grandparents house claiming he was a record producer," Sierra said.

Young was arrested Tuesday when he showed up at the home of Sierra's grandmother. He is facing a misdemeanor charge of stalking and is in the Hillsborough County Jail on $500 bond. If convicted, he could face up to one year in jail.
