Fatal accident in Hernando County

A two car accident left two people dead and another driver in handcuffs Friday night.

The crash happened in Hernando County on 1-75 in Brooksville south of the Sumter County line.

The Florida Highway Patrol arrested Guillermo Mendoza for driving without a valid drivers license and two counts of DUI manslaughter. FHP said Mendoza's car clipped another car, sending it out of control.

The two people in the car, 35-year-old Mary Howard and 44-year-old Linda Timmons, died. A 12-year-old passenger was also injured.
