Tampa police investigating homicide

An 18-year-old man was shot in the upper body and died at a Tampa apartment complex in an apparent drug deal gone bad Sunday afternoon.

According to Tampa police, a female associate met with three unknown Hispanic males at an undisclosed location. The suspects got into the victim's car for a narcotics deal.

Apparently the deal went wrong and one of the suspects shot the victim. The three males fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. The victim was in a 2004 Chevy Impala and the female passenger drove him to a North 39th Street apartment location where police and fire rescue were called.

The investigation is ongoing.
