An investigation into the murder of a retired newspaper reporter with Bay area ties is underway.
Someone robbed and beat David Rosenbaum in Washington, D.C., on Friday night. A neighbor found the 63-year-old lying on a walkway with a serious head injury. He died Sunday night at Howard University Hospital from his injuries.
Rosenbaum had just retired from the New York Times the week before Christmas. He worked for the St. Petersburg Times in the '60s and was a graduate of Plant High School in Tampa.
