Three men have been charged in the murder of 17-year-old Angelia Headrick of Polk County.

Investigators said the three suspects -- Gary Michael Glisson, 29, of Lake Wales, Eric Rodriguez, 20, of Haines City and Jarvis Jameal Mosley, 23, of Lake Wales -- plotted to kill Headrick because they wanted to steal her drugs and money. Rodriguez may have also had a dispute going with Headrick's boyfriend, who was in jail at the time.

The three men were arrested Wednesday morning. Rodriguez was charged with first-degree murder and robbery. Glisson and Mosley were charged with first-degree murder, robbery and arson

Authorities believe the three men got Headrick to meet them at Glissen's home under false pretenses last Wednesday night and got her to drive them in her car to Masterpiece Road.

"They got her to stop the car," Polk County Sheriff's Chief W.J. Martin said. "At that time they attacked her, began beating on her, drug her out of the car, stabbing her to death, beating and kicking her until she died."

After Rodriguez and Glissen allegedly stabbed Headrick up to 20 times, the three men allegedly stuffed her body in the trunk of her car. Authorities said the next day Glissen and Mosley took the car to Babson Park, where they set it on fire. Headrick's remains were found inside a charred vehicle in an orange grove Jan. 5.

On Wednesday, Rodriguez denied that he killed Headrick, who was a junior at Daniel Jenkins Academy in Haines City.

"I didn't kill that girl," he said.

three suspects
These three men are accused of her murder.
"Their stories obviously vary," Martin said. "But they are going to try to limit their involvement or make themselves look a little better. But bottom line, these are three cowardly thugs that robbed and beat to death a 17-year-old girl. They killed her over $400, a little bit of cocaine and a little bit of marijuana. They attacked a 17-year-old girl who weighed 90 pounds.''

All three suspects will make their first appearance before a Polk County judge Thursday.
