TAMPA (Bay News 9) -- Jaymee Wallace, a former Wharton High teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student, was sentenced to three years in jail and three years probation Wednesday.
Wallace, 30, pleaded guilty to the charge and faced up to 30 years in prison. But the student told a judge she didn't want Wallace to go to prison.
The student who Wallace had the relationship with was in 9th grade at the time. Wallace, the student's math teacher, also worked as the girl's basketball coach at the school.
