Pasco County Sheriff's Office detectives are working to solve an 18-year-old murder mystery.
A man's remains were found in a wooded area near San Antonio in 1989. Sgt. Pete Federico of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said the deceased man was a white male about 30 to 42 years old and 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. The man had an average build and was probably right handed.
The man died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The deceased man had a tatoo on his left forearm, a rose with green leaves that merged into a spider web with purple and black lines.
Detectives are talking to their counterparts in several states, as well as the manufacturer of a T-shirt the dead man was wearing. They've learned the T-shirt was sold mostly in and around South Dakota.
The sheriff's office says it is looking to the public for more information, and anyone with information on the case is asked to call Federico at (800) 854-2862, ext. 7815.
