For some fans, rooting for their team isn't enough.
Their competitive drive can put them in the hot seat.
March Madness is when attorney John Robinson said a lot of employees aren't on their game because their eyes are on the ball and betting brackets.
"I think there is more cumulative gambling on March Madness than maybe even the Super Bowl, and it goes on for four weeks," Robinson said.
Robinson said most employers don't have time to play gambling police, but if caught at work it could be grounds for termination.
"When we see this come up on behalf of employers, if they discover it, they see it on the computer or there's some billing going on or they're seeing a whole bunch of computer traffic," Robinson said.
Lawmakers are reportedly considering new laws to regulate on-line betting. With the international reach of the Internet, there are some grey areas for such betting.
