'The Simpsons' ride to be built at Universal Studios

Officials at Orlando's Universal Studios announced Tuesday there's a new ride on the way based on the TV show "The Simpsons."

Designers say guests will be rocketed along with the Simpson family on a hysterical adventure, designed to duplicate "The Simpsons" home viewing experience.

The ride is scheduled to open in the spring of 2008. Universal's creative team is collaborating with "The Simpsons" creator and executive producer Matt Groening and executive producer James L. Brooks to create the ride.
