St. Petersburg fire investigators are trying to figure out what triggered a blaze that burned a hole in the roof of a rental house on Fifth Avenue North.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue spokesperson Lt. Rick Feinberg said one person was home when the incident happened Sunday afternoon, but she got out in time.

"There was an occupant," Feinberg said. "She's okay. She was taking a nap, she says, and that's when she noticed the fire in her room."

Officials said the fire started in the back of the home.

The Red cross will assist the woman, her boyfriend and her 4-year old niece with housing since the home is uninhabitable.
