A deadly accident is under investigation in Pinellas County.
According to St. Petersburg police, 44-year-old Keith Dabrowski was struck and killed by an unoccupied car around 9 p.m. Friday night while walking his dog on 58th Avenue South.
Authorities said Dabrowski was talking with one of his neighbors, Richard McCrory, who had just arrived home. Investigators said when McCrory got out of the car he forgot to put the car in park.
Moments later, the two men noticed the car was rolling down the driveway and they tried to stop the vehicle.
At some point McCrory got out from behind the vehicle. Dabrowski did not and was pushed down the driveway and into the street. He lost his footing and fell underneath the car. The right rear wheel rolled over him.
Rescue crews responded a short time later but Dabrowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
