Man hurt in Skyway Bridge accident

The accident occurred just south of the hump in the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
A man is recovering after an overnight auto accident on the south end of the
Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
The accident occurred at about 3 a.m. just south of the hump in the bridge. A person apparently jumped and ended up on the pilings underneath the bridge and had to be rescued by boat.
Officials said the person who jumped off the bridge was one of the drivers involved.
At least a dozen emergency vehicles, Florida Highway Patrol and the Coast Guard were called to the scene.
There's no word on the extent of the person's injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle stayed on the bridge and was not injured. Possible charges are pending upon the outcome of the investigation.
