DADE City (Bay News 9) -- A Pasco County woman that had been missing since Wednesday night was found dead late Thursday evening.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Shaquieta Lewis' body was found around 8 p.m. in an orange grove near Dade City.
Deputies, who found the body near Blanton Road and Frazee Hill Road, are treating the case as a homicide but did not say how Lewis was killed.
Detectives did say someone reported hearing gunshots in the Tait Avenue neighborhood where Lewis was last seen around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said bullet casings and blood droplets were found in the home where Lewis was last seen. That home is about three miles from where Lewis' body was found.
There have been no arrests as authorities continue to investigate the case and try to determine suspects.
