PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Bay News 9 has gotten it's first look at the now famous sunshine state sextuplets, nicknamed the "Byler Bunch."
"It's amazing to go in there and they're like here now, and it still blows my mind every time I walk in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit)," said their mother, Katherine Byler. I can't believe there's really six of them."
Five boys, Brady, Eli, Ryan, Jackson and Charlie, and one girl, Mackenzie, were born Sept. 1 at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.
The babies, now being cared for at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, made history as Florida's first sextuplets.
The Bylers already have a four-year old daughter, Zoe, who's excited about being a big sister. But their father, Ben Byler, is not sure how to feel.
"I am a little scared, a little excited, so just a little of everything really," Byler said.
Katherine Byler is happy she choose to go through with the high risk pregnancy.
"The babies are doing awesome and everything has worked out really, really well for us," Byler said.
Doctors say four of the Byler bunch babies are off ventilators. They hope to take the other two off in the next few days.
