TAMPA (Bay News 9) -- The Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa is putting plans to feature new card games on hold.
According to Bay News 9's partner paper, the St. Petersburg Times, the Tampa casino was slated to bring blackjack and new card games to its gaming floors by the end of the year. Now, though, those plans are on hold.
Tribe officials said they are trying to hammer out a deal with legislative leaders, following July's state Supreme Court ruling that found Gov. Charlie Crist had overstepped constitutional authority by letting the Seminole tribe offer card games that were illegal in other parts of the state.
Casino officials said they do not know when they will be able to resume their plans to expand gaming options.
