Sarah Palin is scheduled to appear at a rally in Coachman Park Monday morning.

PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Tickets to the Sarah Palin rally in Clearwater Monday continue to be snatched up.

Debra Buschman got six tickets for her family.

"Because it's a first I guess, having a VP who might be a woman and I have three girls I thought they might enjoy her speak," she said.

Preparations are just about at Coachman Park in Clearwater where Palin will have a rally on Monday. Twenty thousand tickets were printed.

Scott Johnson showed up to get one.

"I'm excited about the excitement Sarah Palin brings to the race," he said. "It was pretty boring before that."

There's also excitement over at the Democratic headquarters. Helen Briley says Palin's visit may draw a big crowd, but it won't necessarily end with big ratings.

"I know this every time she speaks her poll numbers go down," Briley said.

The Republicans may disagree with that but everyone agrees it's good for the Bay area when candidates visit.

"It says a lot of our area and what effects we have in this election and we need to go out there and vote," Bauer said.

Supporters will need to pass through security before the event starts. The gates open at 6 a.m.

Those who plan to attend can park at Jack Russell Stadium, which is located at 800 Phillies Dr., between Palmetto and Seminole streets. Shuttle buses have been arranged to take people from the stadium to Coachman Park between 6 a.m. to noon. After the event, the shuttles will take people back from Coachman Park to the stadium.

All roads between Cleveland and Drew streets and from Coachman Park to Fort Harrison Avenue will be closed during those hours.
