Large riot breaks out at a Miami high school

Dozens of officers respond to the scene of a massive riot between gang members at a Miami high school.

MIAMI (Bay News 9) -- Police were called to break up a riot between gang members at Miami Edison Senior High Friday morning.

There were reports of physical violence in a large courtyard. Shots were reportedly fired and weapons were displayed.

Hundreds of officers responded to the scene. More than 40 teenagers were seen leaving the school in handcuffs.

Portions of I-95 were shut down during the fight.

Police were ready for some type of altercation after threats of a riot were made earlier this week.
