A hunt for shells turned into a huge find at Egmont Key.

While walking along the beach Sunday, a 9-year-old boy found a fossil from a shark that would intimidate jaws.

As reported by our partners at the St. Petersburg Times, Grant Johnson found a 5-inch-long, 4 1/2-inch-wide shark tooth.

It belonged to a megalodon, an extinct relative of the great white shark.

Researchers said these teeth turn up often along the southwest coast of Florida.

Grant said his find will go in a display case at home.
