POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The city of Mulberry is without power and could remain that way into Thursday afternoon.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office said the power outage was due to a copper wire theft suspect at the TECO power plant located on Moore Road in Mulberry.
The city of Mulberry is without power at this time and will be without power for several hours while TECO repairs the damage.
PCSO deputies are investigating the incident but do not know the identity of a suspect at this time.
The power outage affects all traffic lights in Mulberry and Mulberry Police officers are in the intersections directing traffic.
In an instance where an officer is not directiing traffic, drivers are reminded to treat all intersections as 4-way stops.
