The infant, named B.J., was reunited with his mom and dad.

PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- An infant has been reunited with his family after a truck he was in was stolen.

St. Petersburg Police said a woman left her truck running around 3:30 Saturday afternoon while she ran inside a sub shop to pick up some food she had ordered.

Police said after she got out of her truck, a man jumped inside the vehicle with her 7-month old baby boy in the back seat.

The incident happened on 34th Street near 17th Avenue South.

Police said the suspect eventually discovered the baby and dropped the infant off at a stranger's house at 822 8th Avenue South. He apparently told the homeowner he had found the baby.

Witnesses said the homeowners knew something was wrong because it had been raining out and the baby was dry.

The boy was later reunited with his family.

The truck was located off 8th Street and 24th Avenue South.

Police are still searching for the suspect. He is described as a black male, 5'8 and about 25 years old, wearing a black hoody, black jean shorts, black and white shoes.
