Scott Rigsby speaks with kids.

ST. PETERSBURG (Bay News 9) -- A double-amputee has a strong message for kids: Follow your dreams.

Scott Rigsby lost both his legs in an accident more than 20 years ago, but it hasn't stopped him from competing in 13 triathlons and five road races.

"Everyone of these kids has a finish line," Rigsby said. "Have faith in their dream, get good people around them, cross their finish line."

Rigsby spoke with a group of kids at Country Day School in Largo on Friday.

Rigsby will compete in the St. Anthony's Triathlon in St. Petersburg on Sunday.
