(Bay News 9) -- The woman known as the "French Fry Grandma" was offered a chance to put an end to her bizarre case but has turned it down.
The state offered Jean Merola, 75, a $88 fine and an admission of guilt.
Her court date is set for July 10.
"It's the principle that counts to me," Merola said. "What am I guilty of? What did I do?"
She was arrested in January for refusing to move her car out of the drive-thru lane of a Clearwater McDonald's.
Merola said drive-thru employees told her to wait there for fries with no salt.
A Clearwater police officer was behind her in line and asked her to move.
"He came up with a nasty attitude," Merola said.
Witnesses said she began yelling at the officer and eventually Merola was charged with obstruction of a public place.
