Branden Allen, 18, is charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment.

PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Three Dixie Hollins High School football players were arrested Thursday in a sexual battery incident that allegedly happened on a school bus on school grounds Tuesday evening.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Branden Allen, and two other teens, ages 15 and 16.

According to the sheriff's office, the bus driver had left the bus with the door closed momentarily to round up the students who were running late.

While he stepped away, Allen reportedly opened the door and stepped in. The victim followed, in order to get a seat for the ride home.

Two of the suspects allegedly boarded the bus, then positioned themselves as lookouts.

Allen then sexually battered the victim, according to detectives.

Investigators said the girl resisted and repeatedly told Allen to stop.

He is charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment. The other teens are charged with principal- sexual battery and false imprisonment.

In accordance to its crime guidelines, Bay News 9 is not releasing the names of the two other student suspects because they are minors.
