PASCO COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- St. Leo University has its largest freshman class in its history, and so many more students want to get into the school that it had to create a waiting list for the first time.
New residence halls, a beautiful view and nice weather most of the time are among the reasons St. Leo University in Pasco County says it is attracting more new students than ever.
"It's such a cool campus and such a good school; you can get a good education and have fun," said St. Leo freshman Ben Stewart.
The school believes its tuition of $16,500 a year also makes it competitive.
"The small class sizes here, one of the reasons I came here," said St. Leo freshman Tyler Ramsdell.
Most of the students receive some sort of financial aid.
St. Leo University started in 1889 and is one of the nations largest Catholic universities.
The university offers more than 40 different academic programs, and many of them are available online. The college is located on State Road 52 in east Pasco County.
