(Bay News 9) 11:19 p.m. -- Tropical Storm Ike has formed and will likely follow a similar path to Hanna as it approaches the Bahamas, forecasters say.
Ike now has maximum sustained wind speeds of 50 mph with higher gusts.
The storm is currently located about 1330 miles east of the Leeward Islands at 18 N and 41.6 W.
Ike is moving west at about 14 mph and is expected to continue to head west-northwest during the next day to two days.
Bay News 9 chief meteorologist Mike Clay says Ike may follow
closely behind Hurricane Hanna in its approach toward the Bahamas.
"They may be hit by Ike by Saturday and Sunday," Clay said.
